Two stories to inspire you!

My name is Carol, I prefer to be called Caz, and I entered the challenge because I was encouraged to do so by my trainer Rachael. I was an unwilling participant to begin with.

Just like you, I am the product of my life experience to date. What a journey I have had! Here is a snapshot of my life to date –

  • Growing up I was timid, shy, bullied, believing I was dumb and totally lacked self confidence.
  • At the age of 35 I nearly lost my life through a hospital medical misadventure. I was in hospital for 6 months, never ate or drank over that time, was given a 10% chance of survival, was released from hospital dependant on pethidine, and was medically certified as an invalid for the rest of my life. My pancreas had haemorrhaged, this created an abscess that went from under my arm to my knees, and my internal organs began to decay. My abdomen was opened from side to side and my internals had to be flushed out each day for over 9 months. As a result my abdomen is badly disfigured by scaring and until the challenge had major pain from the internal scar tissue, thankfully this has now gone.
  • At the age of 40 I lost my middle son, Samuel, in a car accident, he was 16 years old.

My breakthrough physically and emotionally has taken time, but it has happened, the 12 week challenge has completed this process for me. I have gone from being timid, shy, sick, and weak and broken to a person who is confident, strong, 100% well with a purpose and a destiny.

I love buying size 10! For the first time in my life I can look in the mirror and like what I see. I love feeling strong physically and mentally! I love knowing I can now confidently walk in destiny!

There are a number of people I must thank –

  • Rachael my trainer and inspiration
  • Trent my Nutritionist from Shape Up who prepared my eating plan and helped me with supplements
  • Parko my husband and constant encourager

You see there is more than one person who will benefit from my breakthrough....

My destiny is to help orphaned children in West Africa, their parents have been lost through war or witchcraft, and these children have no home, very little food, limited clothing, no medical help, no education and no hope. Recently I spent a month in Africa, I held in my arms a young girl about 3 years old, this young girl is representative of thousands of children in the same predicament, her clothes were in tatters, she had never been picked up and held by a “mum”, when I put her down she just cried and cried and cried, all she wanted was a mum to love and hold her. I know my destiny is to be “Momma Caz” for these children.

My breakthrough may be complete, but my journey has only just begun. Thankyou!

My name is David Parkinson, I prefer to be called Parko.

I was inspired to start training by one of my employees, as part of this process I met Rachael my trainer who encouraged me to participate in the 12 week challenge.

Obstacles? Yes there were plenty, my sweet tooth, a busy lifestyle, irregular work hours, a body disposition that put on weight by just looking at food. BUT ....there comes a time for action, for me the catalyst was the total frustration of being tired all the time, the lack of energy, having to purchase larger and larger clothes, what my Doctor was saying, and the very clear but distant recollection of what it felt like to be 100% fit.

With the help of Rachael my trainer, an absolute legend and inspiration, Trent my dietician, supplement guru and enforcer, I have been able to effect a lifestyle change that motivates me to go even harder  –

  • Diabetes – gone
  • Blood pressure – gone
  • Pills to keep me alive – gone
  • Tiredness and lethargy – gone
  • Fat clothes – gone

I have discovered the joy of –

  • A cheat meal
  • Buying clothes off the rack
  • Having to buy smaller and smaller clothes
  • Running
  • Being able to inspire others in their journey

The challenge may be over, great habits have been formed, now it is time for me to get serious....just how much can I achieve? This is my new challenge! I don’t want to answer my question as I know I can achieve much, much, much more than I can think or even imagine.
